Smart Energy With Solar Electrical Power Systems Can Be Safe and Cheap

Solar Electric Power

With the cost of power going through the roof many folks are looking into many different alternatives to either subsidize or totally replace where they are currently getting there energy from. Becoming more and more affordable every year solar electric power is starting to get pushed to the forefront, it was not that long ago when solar power was considered to be a fad that would just pass us by. Solar panels in the not so far past were not nearly efficient enough for use by the bulk of average citizens in any country, but advances in the technology of photovoltaic has given the large energy companies the technology required to be able to mass produce solar electric power panels that can be afforded by the people like you and I.

The best thing about a solar electric power system is that the source of energy that we get our power from which is our very own sun will not run out of power for hundreds of millions of years. That is much better than relying on finite reserves of oil, coal, and natural gas for your energy needs. There are several reasons why solar electric power makes a lot of sense compared to using fossil fuels. The first thing that needs to be understood is that solar electric power is free for the taking. You will have free electricity to your home for many years after you make the purchase of your new equipment, as the equipment is free to operate from here on in.

To purchase fuel for your home will become a thing of the past. Also, going green might get you some green in the form of tax credits, depending on where you live. Businesses can also benefit from solar electric power. Since companies are constanly looking for ways to cut there costs and energy costs are one of the top concerns with running a business it is probably a good idea to look into solar power for any business in todays economy. Investing in alternative energies now will pay off in the long run, and every business using alternative energy will benefit from their investment in the years to come.

Solar electric power is also 100% clean. Fossil fuels deposit carbon dioxide into the air and are a major hitter in creating air pollution. Air pollution is a leading cause of many respiratory illnesses, like asthma, and carbon dioxide is one of the leading causes of global warming. Alternative energies like solar electric power cause neither of these problems. Eventually fossil fuels will run out, we do not have a never ending abundance as they are a verylimited commodity. Furthermore they are damaging our environment and slowly becoming way to expensive for anyone to use.

Solar electric power upfront costs might be higher but in the long run the savings that you will see over the long haul will far outweigh your upfront out of pocket expenses. Any new home owner should seriously consider purchasing solar electric power equipment. This type of electricity will save money, and more savings are possible through the use of tax credits. Instead of damaging the environment further and having heating and cooling at the mercy of the big energy companies, why not make the smart, safe, and cheaper choice with solar electric power?

Above Ground Pool Installation

Many people still believe that swimming pool ownership is reserved for the rich. These days you could have your own above ground swimming pool installed in your back garden for very little cost.

Imagine the benefits of having your own private swimming pool. You and your family can take a dip any time you like. No need to go to the unpleasantly crowded public swimming baths. Just put on your swimming costume and dive into your own personal pool to cool down on those rare, hot summer days.

Above ground pools have grown in popularity for a number of reasons.

  • Usually they don’t require any special ground work preparation.
  • They are simple and easy to install.
  • Modern above ground pools are built to last, cheap to run and incredibly cheap to buy.
  • Above ground pool maintenance is relatively simple.
  • Above ground pools are inherently safer than inground pools.

Being above ground this type of swimming pool doesn’t require a huge hole to be dug in your garden. Ground work preparation for an inground pool installation is much simpler than for an inground pool, often requiring nothing more than levelling.

Building the pool itself can often be successfully accomplished by a DIY enthusiast. If a professional installation team are engaged to carry out the work the costs involved are significantly reduced, when compared with an in-ground equivalent, due to the simplicity of the process.

Modern above ground pools are built from various robust materials. You can find wooden framed pools with attractive wooden surrounds, metal frame pools with robust metal walls supporting the pool liner and even large inflatable above ground pools. With such a wide range of pools to choose from I am certain you will find a pool that fits your space and is well within your budget.

All swimming pools require routine maintenance which generally involves cleaning, inspecting for damage, changing filters and replenishing swimming pool water treatment chemicals. Since the top of an above ground pool is above ground level then there will generally be less wind blown debris to be cleared, reducing the amount of maintenance required.

There are a number of responsibilities associated with swimming pool ownership. It is of course important to ensure that the pool is safe for people and animals who might come close to the pool. An in-ground pool is immediately more prone to people and animals inadvertently falling in. An above ground pool is much safer as users must climb steps to get into the pool and can’t easily trip and fall in.

If you have been toying with the idea of building a swimming pool in your garden then do take a good look at the variety of excellent above ground pools available today. There are such a variety you are bound to find a style that meets your needs.

Home Steam Shower – Installing A Steam Shower In Your Bathroom

Posted by HomeDesigner | Home Improvements | Tuesday 14 April 2009 3:56 pm

Steam shower rooms were once limited to spas and health clubs, but not anymore.

More and more people are reinventing their bathrooms with residential steam shower units.

The health benefits of steam bathing make it a worthwhile investment.

It’s been known for a long, long time by many cultures that heat and steam have therapeutic benefits.

There are two options for adding a home steam shower to your bathroom:

1. you can build your own steam shower enclosure

2. you can buy a self-contained enclosure

Let’s look at both options…

** Build Your Own Steam Enclosure **

This is without a doubt the most difficult option, but definitely doable. In addition to other tasks, three things will need to be done…

Cover it up. The roof of your shower enclosure will need to be covered. You can use an acrylic dome top or a material such as fiberglass.

Seal it. You will need to seal the enclosure with a steam proof door.

Why these first two steps? Well, you want a home steam shower for its therapeutic benefits, not to ruin your bathroom. If steam is allowed to escape, it will punish drywall, paint, and wallpaper.

Install a steam shower generator. This is the heart of a steam shower. The steam generator is responsible for cranking out the water vapor (steam).

Unless you have the right skills, you’ll need to work alongside a plumber and electrician to properly build your steam enclosure.

** Buy A Self Contained Enclosure **

Although more expensive than building your own, this option gives you a ready-made residential steam shower.

Steam shower enclosures come in four different flavors:

  • Basic
  • Deluxe steam shower
  • Combo shower and whirlpool
  • Combo shower and sauna

Whichever one you choose, your steam shower enclosure will already be sealed properly, include a steam generator and mounted controls for all shower settings.

Basic steam showers normally include a steam jet, soap container, and seating built in.

Luxury models include a lot more …

  • Multiple water massage jets
  • Hand held shower nozzles
  • Foot massagers
  • Fm radio
  • Remote control

…and more.

Luxury steam shower units include steam outlets with essential oil distribution capacity.

You’ll literally have a mini spa in your own bathroom.

And there you are – your options to install a residential steam shower. It’s not a cheap investment, so choose carefully!
